We like to use medium-to-hard color pastels in order to produce fine details. Pastel pencils are also used for drawing outlines and adding accents. Although less as detail as charcoal drawings, color pastels drawings are great for creating vibrant, high-energy portraits and landscapes. It’s also wonderful for drawing children, people or pets with light-colored hair.
